I was in REI for a pickup, and wandered to the shoe section to look...

...They have the Sawtooth, but I didn't see the Firebrand. They had the waterproof and "breathable" versions of the shoe. I'm going for the latter.

The ankle support was definitely more padded than the Keen Targee IIs. I plan to skip the Moab IIs this time around...really hope the Sawtooth feels as good on my feet as it did in my hand.

REI closes at 7pm on weeknights, and I probably made it in about 15 minutes before closing. Didn't have hiking socks, so no time to try any on...next week.
