Curmudgeon complaint: Can't believe how many typos are in online stories


When I was a reporter in the 80s, the cardinal rule was to get the facts right, and to write with no errors/typos. To fail to do either would reduce your credibility.

I just read the article on Si.com about the Holiday Bowl being cancelled, and at the end of the article there are 3 typos in two paragraphs and a teaser below it. I see this everywhere now. I used to attribute it to the Twitter universe, i.e., if it is wrong, you just change it and you're good. Now I think people are just sloppier and care less.
