Agreed. My belief is that news organizations have cut so much from their


budgets in an attempt to remain profitable. The result? They've fired the editors who normally would catch these errors and help guide the development of the story & writing quality.

'typed by ben' also raises a good point, in that algos are writing some (many?) articles now and--while they've improved over the years--you can still see some grammatical steaming piles every now and then, especially when a foreign-language article is translated into English.
