True. There are even times and cases where making recycled paper is cheap
compared to virgin. But you can still only recycle so many times. It is necessary to reintroduce virgin paper into the stream. I could be wrong, but I think aluminum and copper can be recycled indefinitely.
But also keep in mind paper is made from a completely renewable resource, and waste paper biodegrades quite nicely. The amount of planet-saving you are doing by recycling paper is limited.
Petroleum for plastics is not renewable and doesn't really biodegrade. In terms of consuming finite resources and clogging up landfills with non-biodegradable things, plastics are far, far worse than paper.
