That argument is full of holes.

The F35 is a stealth fighter. It can detect and kill an F15,16, or 18 before any of those planes detect its presence. Simulated and mock combat show a 8 to 1 kill ratio of the F18 Hornet.

It is no longer about maneuverability - the F22 Raptor is the most maneuverable fighter ever built -and the best for close contact dogfighting. The problem is stealth changed everything - if you have it, the battle is over for the other guy before it even started. Thus the F22 is out of production - it is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist anymore!
