The Littoral Combat Ship is a joke.

I think it was originally envisioned as a purpose built coastal patrol vessel. Then the brass began to add more and more weapons systems to make it useful doing more jobs. So we ended up with an overloaded white elephant that can't do any mission very well.

By the way, what's wrong with the Arleigh Burke tin cans? I thought they were one of our success stories.
