Stealth involves so many aspects of fighter and plane characteristics.

And because stealth tech is super top secret there are no clear definitions that I can find of each generation.The first stealth fighter was the F117 which freaked the world out in the gulf war as it was invisible to Iraq radar while flying over Baghdad and bombing targets with impunity. Next came the B2 bomber. Before and during this time the F15,16, and 18 all incorporated aspects of stealth, primarily reduced radar cross section. The F22 Raptor came next and claimed 4th gen stealth tech. Today as you have seen some refer to it and the newer F35 as 5th gen stealth but the F35 has additional newer stealth features. To this day there are only 5 operational "stealth" war planes in operation: The US's B2 Bomber, the F22, and the F35, and a Russian and Chinese fighter which appear to be clones of stolen US technology.
