1. If the ACC or any other conference goes to pick up the pieces left over by the BigXII, it will be a sign of weakness. But more importantly, the question that needs to be asked is "Will expanding to 20 make money for the current ACC members?" I say no, but I'm open to being convinced to the contrary on this.

2. From what I now understand, the B1G won't be able to take and current ACC members because current ACC members won't be able to leave without losing a boat load of money due to grant of rights for TV.

3. I think the distance between the east coast and, let's say Kansas and Oklahoma State would be a challenge. But in a way, the higher number of schools that we take of them, the better. But still, I think the distance isn't worth it for current ACC school. And the Pac-12 faces the same issues by picking some of these schools up as well.

I think this is doomsday for the other 8 BigXII schools. I don't see any major conference picking them up en masse (Kansas and Iowa State to the B1G, or WVU to the ACC might happen, but it isn't likely. The other 5 are screwed IMO). I also think this SEC-16 deal is bad for all the other conferences. The ACC/B1G/Pac would be advised to keep their mouth shut about wanting any of the school left out. The politicians in affected state capitals might need to get involved, But if everyone is meant to believe the other 8 have landing spots, it might cause them to stand down from doing anything.
