It seems crazy on the surface (and it is), but then again so did Oklahoma to the SEC before yesterday.

Could further entice ND. PSU-ND would be a bigger game changer than Tex-Okla
PSU gets an easier path to the CFB playoff in the ACC than facing a grueling B10 schedule
PSU is culturally more eastern than midwestern.
Locks up the eastern seaboard
It would stop complaining about how difficult it is to get to Blacksburg
