other P5 universities have those same “lofty values.” But they’re honest enough not to confuse those standards and values with what the common non-athlete student has to uphold. Plus, UVa has twice the living alumni as ND, although I’m sure a lot of practicing Catholics donate to their athletics. And USC is a large private university, but they don’t have overwhelmingly high living alumni numbers. And lastly, UVa has tons on money for football and have spent it in the past. UVa poured tons of money into Scott stadium and those wonderful pergolas in the early 2000s and installed a Jumbotron during a time when Jumbotrons were a sign of elite status. So UVa has the money and has proven they’ve spent the money. Not just in football but in every other sport too. And I’m pretty sure the majority of your football team is missing the Mensa IQ benchmark by more than a little. Don’t feel bad, UVa is just like every other school when it comes to sports.
