I think rich alimni are tapped out


We invested all that money in the early 2000's and it didnt yield any greater success than when we had Welsh. Those same alumni arent going to flush 50 million plus down the same clogged toilet.
We cant point to some history of success that UMich or ND have had that might spur some nostalgic rich alum to open their wallets.
If they are like me, many are just fatigued at the whole football arms race, unlevel playing field with teams like Bama, Clemson, OSU, etc and really just don't care much about football anymore to want to bother to participate at more than a basic level.
