No, I was referring to the possibility that ESPN could be waiting
to see what the next evolution of the distribution model is since that possibility is floating out. Right now I am still willing to give ESPN the benefit of the doubt until someone has evidence that something else is going on behind the scenes especially since none of the schools are loudly voicing their displeasure in the situation.
Likewise, if it ever became common knowledge that ESPN was using this situation to teach the ACC a lesson, voice its displeasure over the ACC's agreement with Notre Dame, and/or try to place pressure on Notre Dame (by placing pressure on the ACC) to give up its NBC contract, then I wouldn't be surprised by it. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN secretly wanted Notre Dame to be a full member in the Big Ten instead of a full member in the ACC.
