Great analysis.couple issues

Notre dame is not fully in. If continue to play only 5 games, they would play the most of the conference too infrequently. I also don't think they would like playing Louisville every year.

Solution add navy as an associate member for football only and U conn for all sports. think that is all navy would want to play. It gives them better visibility, makes acc contiguous., we all know bc needs help in covering the northeast. it adds a state which would get more $ for an acc network should we get it since two states with a lot of cable boxes are added so you would get higher rates.

This allows the acc to embrace the reality notre dame may not ever come. It makes scheduling easier. Notre dame would play a rotating pod schedule. Where they play in each pod every 2 tears. They would play navy every year as their 5th conference game commitment. In years where they are in navy's pod they would play one other acc school as out of conference.

While you are at it. National playoff for top 2 pods from each conference eligible for selection if it is p4 world. If p5 top8 pod champions play, meaning the lowest ranked pod champion does not play for 2 conferences.

Alternatively, if navy is a no go, I would add wvu and u conn for all sports.

In this scenario notre dame, is not addressed as being an acc pod winner. Although they technically played the entire pod plus one game. You could argue they could win their pod and be an acc representative or they don't represent the acc. Assuming they would have access to new playoff format.

You would think at that point they are all in except in name only. The still play national schedule and in some years they can even add back a Michigan or Michigan state should navy be the option.

You could argue the chances of the acc getting two reps in the new playoff would go up. And it may be more palatable for some that they played everyone in their pod so they are not getting special treatment to be pod champion. Only which pod they are in.
