Doesn't OOC have the potential to be meaningless now?
Since the standards the Committee uses to determine the 4 teams is fluid, the Committee could decide 1 season that the strength of a team's conference schedule carries a lot more weight to the point where OOC games may be a non-factor (aka meaningless) in the Committee's final decision.
Don't get me wrong I do think there is a possibility that OOC games could become meaningless. However, because the Committee doesn't disclose its criteria until after it shares its final decision with the public, then it is tough to determine if the Committee chair is giving honest answers or scripted PC answers.
