To answer the original question, generally most top ten teams will not have 10 NCAA qualifiers. The best teams - maybe the top 10 or so - tend to have 8 or 9 qualifiers. A couple may have 10, but the quality of the qualifiers is even more important than the numbers. Teams in the next tier might have just 4-6 qualifiers, which means that it is nearly impossible for them to compete for a team trophy even if they have a stud or two who can compete for an individual NC.

Beyond the number of qualifiers, a team has to have qualifiers who can actually advance deep into it to compete for the team trophies.

I'm sure Dresser is hoping to get 8 in, and that they can all advance. Having Dennis down at 133 where he can really compete, qualify and advance is important. And he's hoping that Kevin Norstrem at 141 can make it 9 qualifiers, but the injury and limited time to climb the rankings are working against them right now. An auto bid from the ACC tournament is possible, but will be tough considering how stacked the ACC is at 141.
