I like your optimism, but it will be tough without McFadden.

Dance has a lot of potential, but he needs to prove that he can show up on the big stage when there will be multiple weigh-in's. If he can that can potentially match the loss of Nick at 157.

Sully is a tough wrestler, and I hope he surprises me, but he may have a hard time topping last years placing. Which isn't a bad thing, he did AA as a freshman.

For Epperly I agree that he has a shot at winning the NC at 174, but beating his points from last year will be really tough. After losing to Kent in the first, he worked the backside of the bracket big time rolling in lots of bonus points (bonused 6 of 7 matches). He was one of the highest point scoring wrestlers in the tournament last year. It is hard to score that many on the top side of the bracket, first of all because you don't wrestle as many matches, and second because the competition on the topside is usually a little tougher, so it is harder to get bonus. I am not saying that he can't do it, but his run last year is almost unheard of. He is/was a beast.

For us to really contend for a top 4 this year we need all/most of our returning AA's to place up, and hopefully at least one win a NC. Then we will also need ZZ Top to AA, which I think he can this year.

If those things happen, then I think we have a chance to finish top 3, without McFadden. But that is a lot to ask, you never know what can happen in the tourney. Take a look at Joey, no one would have thought that he wouldn't have made it to the semi's much less the blood rounds the last two years, yet he didn't.

A lot of it depends upon seeds and who is on your side of the bracket. We have a lot of potential, but a lot of things need to go right. With that said I was pretty impressed by the showing against UVA. Pretty much across the board our guys were being aggressive and riding very tough on top. Hopefully they can continue this approach against some of the top tier guys. We just have to keep our heads down and make sure we peak just right.
