Why should an undefeated have to play a 4 or 5 loss team to win title?

And that 4 or 5 loss team COULD BE a team it has already defeated as well.

And the tie breakers are simple. It goes to the highest ranked teams. That's more often than not what the fans will want and what the TV will want.

There are flaws in ever model. I find the flaws in the current model equally, and even more so troubling. Even if VT had pulled off the win this past year, did it REALLY deserve to be the ACC Champ?

I also have a fairness problem when considering Miami plays FSU each season while Duke plays Wake. That's a problem for Miami. Had they been playing Duke's ACC schedule these last dozen years, they would have a couple of Coastal crowns.

I say you just play the two best teams and call it a day.

As a fan of the game, that's what I want to see. I'm quite dissapointed sometimes when I see mismatches in conference championship games. It sucks.
