I am a self proclaimed expert

My family loves to go. I've had months of planning go up and smoke, made revisions for the next time and all the subsequent times have been perfect.

I've gone when my kids were almost 2, 4, and 6.

Don't go in the summer. It's the worst. We went in Mid june right when school went out and it was hot as balls.

We went back for the ACC Champ game in early December and it was beautiful.

I would recommend going in early October. Schools back in, parks less crowded and they just start setting up for the Halloween type stuff which is very nice.

If you can afford it, stay at a disney resort as you get to take advantage of "early" and "late" hours. You would get more benefit with the early hours. But you have to check which parks have early/late hours on the days you plan on going.

Also, if you are in one of the disney resorts not on the monorail, you have a bus that will take you straight to each resort.

If you have the cash you can stay at the Contemporary (where you can walk to the park if you want) or Polynesian or the outrageously priced Grand Floridian.

Take some time to explore 3 three monorail hotels. Anyone can go in. We love walking around them.

Your kids are not big enough for the big 4: Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, 7 Dwarf Mine Train, or Thunder Railroad.

Eat lunch at the Cyrstal Palace in Magic Kingdom, its buffet and they have all the winnie the pooh characters come out and come to your table, take pictures, and do autographs. It was our favorite.

Do not get a meal plan. The only way to make it work is if you basically eat steak and lobster for every meal for every person. Otherwise, just pay as you go and eat what you want as you go. A typical lunch meal for an adult will be $15-$20.

Skip Epcot. Your kids will not enjoy it.

If your 1.5 year old hasn't had his/her first haircut yet, they do a special "1st haircut" at the barber shop in Magic Kingdom. We had our 2 year old do her first haircut there and it was pretty neat.

Do not wait in line for the Peter Pan ride. It is miserable.

Fast Passes:
You get 3 per day for teh whole family. Use them all before noon. (you can set them up 30 days in advance online, or 60 days in advance if you stay on a disney property). You need to log in at like 7am that morning on the 30th or 60th day to pick the good stuff. But you want to schedule all your fast passes between 10-1. The reason being, that after your first 3 fast passe are used you can start scheduling more. So you just use your APP, find a ride that has available fast passes, add them, and your off to your next ride with no wait.

Also, take advantage of the child swap passes. If the 4 of you go up to a ride that everyone can ride except hte 1.5 year old, then you have to wait with the 1.5 year old while the 3 year old and mom go ride. But you tell the person at the gate before you go in that you need a child swap. This child swap acts as a fast pass for later so that YOU and a guest can ride again with no wait. So when your wife and 3 y/o come back from the ride, they give you the ride swap, and you can immediately ride it with your 3 year old through the fast pass line with no wait. Or you can save it for like 3 days and ride it later. Child swaps were amazing for us as our youngest daughter got to ride space mountain a dozen times.

Eat a lunch at the beauty and the beast castle. Its quickservice you don't need a reservation ( you do for dinner though). Its very cool inside.

Take a day and watch the fireworks from on top of the Contemporary resort outside of the California Grill. Or watch them from the Polynesian Beach front on the lake. They pipe in the music and its very cool.

Try not to rush from ride to ride. Enjoy the experience of just leisurely strolling through. Lots to see beyond the rides.

Your 3 year old would probably like the "Sorcerers Apprentice Game". Once go inside Magic Kingdom you can go get some "magic cards" and go to interactive portals all over the park and play a game. You go from portal to portal.

Also in adventureland there is a similar interactive game where you are a Pirate. There's a place you check in and get a map, and you follow the map and do all the stuff.

Get magic bands for the adults and the 3 year old. It will make everything so much easier.

Buy a big tub of popcorn when you first go in. You can refill that tub for $1 the rest of your stay in all the parks. Its the most cost effective snack there is.

Bring strollers for both kids obviously. They will pass out at some point.

I've got tons more and could probably answer every question you have. Send me an email if you have any [email protected]

Also, i'd recommend driving. We did the drive this past year and it was fine. Save some money and didn't have to go crazy with car seats through the airport.
