WOW, Lots of great advice. Thanks! This trip serves 3 purposes

1) The wife said we aren't going to Yellowstone until we go to Disney.

2) The wife is also gonna start clamoring for Thing #3 in the near future. Ideally I'd go later.

3) Right now Thing 2 is as free as free can be at Disney.

I'm dreaming of native cutthroat trout and the banks of the Firehole river in Yellowstone. I'll have enough vacation saved up in a couple years to spend a good month out there fishing to my and my boy's hearts content. The wife is onboard but put the stipulation that we go to Disney first. We were supposed to do it before kids but life happened...

With 2 boys she wants to try at least once more for a girl. If we get one of those things to come along in the next 2 years then I'm another 1-2 years out from Disney and therefore another 2-3+ years out from Yellowstone.

This is a very busy year. I've been working 12-13 hours with only a single day off in the last 3 weeks. That schedule is likely to continue all spring and into the summer with only a few breaks. When you're pulling down that kind of OT and not getting a summer vacation then spending $4-5k on a big trip isn't that bad.

I realize that all came off pretty selfish. HA. Truth be told this is a trip for my wife. We'll go again in 5-10 years while it's still cool to hang out with your parents hopefully with another little widget in tow.

Now I just need to digest the advice...
