Interesting article out of Norfolk about how C-USA is not on a sustainable financial model. C-USA and the Sunbelt formed by maximizing geographic coverage to impress television. But apparently television isn't impressed. So it makes sense now to organize around regional rivalries to create more interest and to minimize expenses for travel. To me even with the ACC making enough money to cover travel, the ACC should heed this as well. Regional rivalries is where the focus should be for us too.

I find this comment from the ODU beat writer interesting. "As entertaining as ODU football games were against Texas-San Antonio the last two seasons, there's no rivalry there. I love Texas and enjoyed the football team's four trips to the Lone Star state the last three seasons. But it's ludicrous for mid-major schools from Virginia and Texas to play in the same league." ODU just joined that league a few years ago.
