If each division is 13 members, then based on the current NCAA bylaws


teams would play 12 conference games and no OOC games since divisions must play a round robin schedule. I am not sure how many schools would be in favor of playing that type of schedule year in and year out especially if they play an OOC rival annually. Rice (Houston) and UTEP (NM State) are the 2 that come to mind from Conference USA. I can't think of any in the Sun Belt.

Something to keep an eye on is that DII football powerhouse North Alabama is set to join the Big South as a football-only member (Atlantic Sun for all other sports) in 2019. It would not surprise me if UNA has a similar track as UCF did and try to get to the FBS subdivision as quickly as possible. The Sun Belt seems like it would be the most logical choice.
