I am a WVU fan and have been a season ticket holder since 1983. My seats are twenty rows behind the visitor's bench so I've seen a lot in my years at Mountaineer Field. I'm not saying that Mountaineer fans have been angels but the level of holiganism has been stretched a bit. I've seen some of our fans mouth off at rivals at times but nothing different than I've seen at Pittsburgh, College Park or even Blacksburg.

Even back in 2004 which has been associated as fan massacre by some on this board during WVU-Tech game, I saw issues with both fan bases. Tech fans wearing shirts stating "We ACCept" and chanting "ACC" through the game was a bit much. But hey it's a rivalry. One that most Mountaineer fans miss tremendously.

I come here in peace. I follow conference realignment and how it may pertain to WVU in the future. I was also accepted to VPI as it was referred to back in the day. Decided not to major in architecture so went to WVU instead. I have many friends, neighbors and relatives who are Tech graduates.

My personal beliefs are further ACC expansion will depend on Norte Dame. They will stand at 14 and hold a spot for the Irish if they ever come. Oklahoma seems to be the next prize and could be B1G or SEC bound after GOR is up. I believe Texas will stay in a watered down Big 12 because they have so much power I can't see them giving it up. If the SEC doesn't get OU, I can see them waiting for ACC GOR to expire and take one Virginia and one NC school (Tech and State).

I mean no disrespect to Tech fans. I was there in 1989 when you beat Major in Morgantown 12-10 and changed the direction of your program. I was there when Michael Vick did his escape act and pulled out a miracle in 1999. I've also witnessed some great Mountaineer wins over the Hokies. I just hope we can play on a semi regular basis if conference affiliation is not in the cards.

Best of luck Labor Day weekend. I think you willl find us to be very respectful and grateful to play OU again.
