This doesn’t help you with your dad, but...


I’m in my 60s. I want my 30-something only child to feel as little guilt as possible during my elder years. Since he was a teenager, I’ve made sure he knows a couple key phrases: ”put me in a facility” rather than struggle to keep me at home, and “pull the plug” when the time arises. I don’t want him to struggle to keep my house running when I cannot. And I pray I’ll have plenty of money to pay for my upkeep. I’ve never minded getting older until recently, and I’ll admit that the future can be a pretty scary thing.
