When did that change of mind occur? How old were they?


My mother was the driver of assisted living. Grocery shopping/cooking became a chore. I believe she feared waiting/moving too late. This was her way of exercising her independence. My parents were 77/80 when they moved to assisted living. I consider it a gift akin to my college education.
