A follow up, not meaning to sound harsh here.

If it's a key employee (needed to hit deadlines committed to by the company) can't one work and grieve? Their seems to be zero commitment to the employer and the client whatsoever. This wasn't a sudden event like a car crash.

How does one grieve all day and night? It would seem like work might be a welcome distraction.

(Note, I'm a guy who didn't miss but one full day for my parent's death. I knew things had to be done at work. I always showed up or made calls. I was committed to employer and clients)
