is a really important person in their life. You don't know their relationship.

I'll be honest, if you said that to me, then I'd have told you to F*(& off, and I'll find another job.

You are paying for their work. They aren't forever beholden to you. I think you are mistaking the relationship here.

Let them grieve, and get the work done somehow. It happens all the time in business.
