If scientists have found microbial life on Mars


then it will be interesting to see how similar/different they are to ones on Earth. I read either last week or the week before where some scientist may think that some organisms (specifically their eggs) on Earth may have been brought here via comets or asteroids. I think the article was specifically focused on octopi, but also hinted that it could be applicable to other organisms. At least I don't think scientists have been able to figure out what triggered the Earth to have this "sudden" boom of new life after a mass extinction.
