We have a bit longer than that.

First of all, we couldn't destroy this planet if we tried. Even if we make it uninhabitable to humans, Life would reboot in the cosmic blink of an eye here. But that's another thread.

The Sun has been burning for roughly 6 billion years and it's still got about another 6 billion years before it goes white dwarf. The time it spends as a red giant will be maybe half a billion of those years. In other words, it's going to be another 5 billion years before the Sun exhausts its Hydrogen supply and expands to burn Helium.

Also, the Mily Way-Andromeda collision? About 4 billion years. And any life in either galaxy probably won't even notice it.
