I've lost almost 50# basically by watching how much I eat, not really what


I eat.

MyFitnessPall app is a very handy way to track calories. A kitchen scale is a bit of a must if you really want control over portion sizes. It is a bit eye-opening to see what 3 oz of chicken or steak looks like, or what 1 oz of nuts as a snack looks like.

Once you start controlling portions, you will realize how much you really did overeat. You will probably also find some awfully high-calorie foods you had been eating that you didn't really enjoy enough to be worth the calories anymore.

The paperwork is annoying at first, and there will be days early on where you are a little hungry. But I promise you do re-train your body re. what a normal and reasonable amount of food is. There is no way I could eat today the way I did a year ago.
