I've never served in the military, but I am a consultant for the DoD. I'd

say almost 0%.

Enough countries have nuclear capability that it would be impossible to enter a WW3 without ending the world. Everyone knows that, and they act accordingly. So, even if there was an assassination of a modern-day Archduke Franz Ferdinand or Gulf of Tonkin event, then it would be fought in a proxy war.

The only way I can see it is if one of the major actors just hit us in a Pearl Harbor type of attack. China is too smart to do that. The hubbub in the South China Sea is just saber rattling. They know what side of the bread is buttered.

Russia is the only one crazy and stupid enough to do it. If their economy tanks, which is possible with fossil fuels going the way of the dinosaur, then their hand will be forced. They'll have to start seizing land and nationalizing industry. That's my biggest concern.

I just don't think that countries are committed enough to Israel to start WW3 over Islamic countries punching them in the throat. Well, I'm not willing for the world to end if that happens. But, you never know.
