Or maybe the disease is just reaching some of those locations? Maybe a
large percentage of susceptible of individuals in "NoVA" were infected in March - May. Maybe there's a superspreader in some part of "Real Virginia."
I just looked at Montgomery County. The density of cases is 199/100,000 population. In NoVa, the density is about a factor of 6 to 20 higher. If it is solely irresponsible behavior driving it, then there was a complete lack of seriousness in NoVA earlier.
Note that Sweden, which has been excoriated by many for its "irresponsible behavior" peaked in deaths per day around mid-April. (The overall death rate is higher.)
We're still figuring out what our behavior should be. Other than social distancing--which can only be effective for a tolerable period of time--what has been proven to work?
