Not always "the" answer


Certainly "an" answer, just not necessarily "the" answer.

Since they stopped making tools in Japan and moved production to China, Makita is about the same as every other very good brand.

If you're semi-serious but still cost-conscious, I'd go with Ryobi. If you want to turn it up a notch, Bosch, Makita, Milwaukee, Ridgid, Kobolt, Hitachi, and Metabo are all pretty solid. I have a personal preference for Milwaukee, but which one is the best is going to vary from tool to tool.
