In the past 7 days the US has had 8,793 deaths noted as Covid related

For comparison, Flu/Pneumonia death data going back to 2014 shows the highest single week as 5,589 deaths (and that is with us having a Flu vaccine). Also, those peak flu death numbers are always around the January timeframe (with July and August typically the low point for flu deaths).

Flu is a form of coronavirus and gives a good insight as to what we can expect on a yearly basis for trends. And the actual factor of spread is not related to indoors vs outdoors. It is related to proximity to people. A bunch of people together outdoors can be just as bad as people being indoors. One of the known reasons for the seasonality of flu deaths is because of school. The flu never really goes away, it is just spread more in certain months because of behavior.

Covid may never really be done. We just don't know yet.
