Softball going forward
Let me preface this by saying I've been 'involved' in fastpitch in some way for 25 years. In that time I've seen over 145 different D1 teams play; yes I sort of keep count. Those very close to me have played travel ball, D1 ball, international ball and coached at the D1 level. I love the game. I haven't seen Pete's VT team play in person yet. I'm very curious about his "it's business" approach. From an admitted distance he seems a bit like a certain New England football coach. For those closer to the program what is your perception? Certainly the VT dugout is a stark contrast to most others. Are the girls having fun? Do you think he can sell this approach and how will it wear on players over time? Absolutely no criticism implied . . . . obviously his approach has worked with his current group.
