Did you notify your insurance company of the change of ownership?...


If not, then your insurance may have been in effect at the time of the accident. If you have a good insurance agent then he and the insurance legal gurus can help you work out some of these issues. My son was in an accident about 8 months ago and the person who hit him gave bad insurance info. My insurance was able to find out that the driver did not own the car and that the owner of the car had had their insurance expire 2 days before the accident. My insurance had to cover the costs under uninsured motorist coverage.
