As a more serious response, maybe try a DMV in a different, preferably

smaller town.

As an example, my personal experience is not a single person at the Roanoke DMV has a soul (or if they do, they set it on a shelf while at work and pick it back up on their way home at the end of their shift). If you have anything to do at the DMV other than the most simple and routine activity where you've already got all your documentation in perfect order, don't ever go to the one in Roanoke.

But get to some of the smaller town DMV's, and they can be quite delightful and genuinely will work with you to help solve your problem.
