ESPN owns both sides of the Clemson/FSU equation. Classic zero sum game A decade from now, Clemson and FSU become more realistic discussions where ESPN might jettison its deal with the ACC (but then lose huge population centers if they do?). But why would you deliberately devalue your second most valuable asset?

These moves are easy and fun to talk about, but in this case the chess pieces are less like knights and queens, and more like glaciers.
