Please don’t believe that there is no way out of our $30,000,000 a year deficit for 15 years. That’s just not the situation. Would it be bold to try to get out? Yes, but some could make a strong argument that it’s malfeasance if you have a way out and don’t take it. Virginia Tech in hindsight blew it in 1953 when it said it was wrong to go to Bowl Games. Let’s not let our leadership make the same mistake. There is no way we should accept tier 2 or 3 when tier 1 is available for both Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia too.
