They would prefer to be able to play each other twice per season


instead of only once per season. It is no different than why VT and UVA chose to be the same division when the ACC first expanded to 12 members. Remember the ACC kept the same divisions for M/W basketball. The ONLY way for VT and UVA to play twice per season was for both schools to be in the same division because neither school was willing to give up an OOC slot in order to play a conference foe for a second time in the same season. Heck they never played 2 OOC games when they were in different conferences.

You may not agree with this position/opinion. However, history suggests that is the position Army and Navy will likely take on this issue.
