That's the same impression I had when I lived in MD.


In Baltimore, they were probably the 6th most covered college (1. Maryland, 2. Towson, 3, JHU - mainly men's lacrosse, 4. Loyola and UMBC tied, and then Navy). I also think being located between Baltimore and DC placed USNA in "no man's land" when it came to sports media coverage. The USNA highlights were their annual rivalry football game vs. Army and maybe a brief mention about men's hoops or lacrosse. If they were hosting Notre Dame in Baltimore, that would be big sports story but it was more about Notre Dame than Navy.
