where I had older technical people make more than me. You can try going elsewhere but you will find the same, you want a company that values technical people who know their craft well, the difference is in 10 years you will make more than they ever did in their career.

My historical experience, I managed upwards of 20 people at two different companies/project. Both places I had more senior people reporting to me making more money than I did. Those people were really good at what they did.

Took a step back to stay technical didn't like managing people and personalities, work at AWS as a senior technical engineer, no direct reports, and my boss is about 10 years younger than me. Don't know if I make more or less than him but guessing more.
