Ha, I took the comfortable approach for the first 5 - 10 years.


I developed into an SME in my area and became the referent individual. However, when I saw things start to stagnate, I kicked my own butt into action.

I got an MBA and have been promoted 3 times since 2018. I like my trajectory, but I've gone from individual contributor straight to manager with no formal training other than OTJ and the vast amount of reading / study I've done on my own.

My main strengths are I'm a technical expert on the material and I understand the importance of relating to everyone. Not being liked by everyone, but first understanding where they're coming from and then working with them to get them where they / I need them to be.

I'm green but my salary has a almost doubled in those 3 years. No real complaints, I just find it to be an odd situation...
