"If" th Power 5 insist on getting automatic PO bids, break off could happen

They know the G-5 will fight this, they know they can't get a unanimous vote if they insist on this provision. I personally thought/heard a split was coming between the P5 and G5, but thought maybe they were going to back off of it and would just let the 6 highest ranked Conferences with a strong strength of schedule component in an 8 team playoff. However, if the P-5 double down on the automatic bids for the P-5, I am not so sure.

So the end game could be to break off the P-5 and have a commissioner of the P-5. You could even absorb the B12 into the other 4 and you are off and running with an 8 team playoff. (Conference Championships would be the elite 8 of the playoff)

Looking back at the last couple of years, expect the totally unexpected!!
