As I stated multiple times before (in different words), if the P5s

are considering that option, then they have to answer 1 question.

Are the P5s willing to sacrifice the health of all their other sports in order to get their way on 1 issue with football? Remember the NCAA DI currently sponsor a total of 32 sports (see the breakdown below).

Men's team sports = 8
Men's individual sports = 7
Women's team sports = 10
Women's individual sports = 7

For a majority of the sports, maybe even all the sports, the P5s are in the minority in terms of the DI participating schools. If the P5s are going to breakaway from the NCAA, then you can bet the remaining NCAA DI schools will blackball the P5s.

So for a school like VT, is getting its way in football worth sacrificing the health of the wrestling, men's soccer, women's soccer, track and field, softball programs? Also, is VT willing to take on the cost that would be associated with starting up a men's ice hockey program, women's ice hockey program, men's water polo program, women's water polo program, men's lacrosse program, men's volleyball, men's lacrosse, women's rowing, women's gymnastics, women's beach volleyball, rifle, women's rugby, women's equestrian, men's skiing, women's skiing, women's bowling, men's fencing, and women's fencing in order to ensure the P5s have enough participating teams?
