Prepaid warranties

I hate them. It's pervasive in the fly fishing industry especially. You pay $1200 for waders or a fly rod and the manufacturer replaces them no questions asked over and over.

I can easily mentally justify buying (3) $400 fly rods, but have a hard time pulling the trigger on one $1200 rod. Same thing with waders. The $250 pair I bought have lasted me 8 years. If I was a guide or someone that used them daily, I get the warranty. For a once or twice a month angler, these prepaid warranties are stupid.
