called Free the Powder. Ma & pop out of Park City UT. I also have Hestra, Mammut (La Liste), & some OR gloves. For skiing to stay warm and dry, you need leather...period. Too much plastic and your hand doesn't breath enough and it turns to sweat, which turns cold.

As for price, one pays for a lot of branding and where it is put together. A high end gortex pro laminate has more water proof and breathability vs others, so that is where the trade-off usually occurs when going down in price. An old rep once told me gortex was about $45/sq yard, but I bet that price has come down a lot since then. I also have a good friend from China who buys brand new North Face down the street from the factory for $20 a jacket. :)
