FWIW the following schools are planning to join the AAC in 2023:


UAB, FAU, UNC-Charlotte, North Texas, Rice, and UT-San Antonio. So I don't get why you think the conference is much more Texas centric when the divisions in football will look like this:

East: Temple, Navy, ECU, Charlotte, USF, FAU, and UAB

West: Memphis, Tulane, Tulsa, North Texas, SMU, Rice, and UTSA

I doubt the conference will use divisions for very many of the other sports given that Wichita State is still a non-football member of the conference. If the conference does decide to use divisions, then Memphis would move to the East and fill Navy's slot with Wichita State filling Memphis's vacated slot.
