I find th eliminating of Conference Championship games intriguing to reduce

the number of games. Some things I like about it and don't like about it:

LIKE: It puts more value in the regular season games, something that has been watered down some with these rematches in the Conference Championship game. The old model of lose and your out makes the regular season games very intense.

LIKE: The Conference Championship games are really an exhibition and need to be eliminated if you expand to cut the number of games played. Georgia gets blown by Alabama, it doesn't matter they are in. Notre Dame got blown out by Clemson last year, it doesn't matter they are in. (By the way you are in if you won enough in your history, if not, no way, your out, this is a joke of a system that lacks objective criteria, except for ratings)

DON'T LIKE: It's already bad enough that there isn't enough cross over games for rankings between Conferences. Now you easily could not have a cross over game between the top 2 teams in the Conference. It's a joke have a ranking system based on so few cross over games,, much lees if they are in the same conference.

DON'T LIKE: If teams from the same Conference aren't matched up in the playoff, I don't like it. We need a national sport with multiple conference teams having a shot. I know ESPN/SEC wants just the SEC, but even some of their people are finally waking up and talking about how this is a very bad thing for the sport (if Paul Finebaum can speak out on it, others should too). For instance, the Sugar Bowl could be Georgia Alabama, I will watch that, absolutely. Or Clemson Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl, I am there! It's even more intriguing if they haven't played. If you do this, then a don't like becomes a like.

There is a lot more to this article, but I will start for now with just the eliminating the Conference Championship games.
