Maddox's issue is less the offensive system and more defensive positioning

He was in the right spot and intercepted a pass to the roll man on one possession and then left 3 or 4 seconds too early on a subsequent play that gave away a drive right at the rim.

He is inconsistent in knowing where to be. That would be the same, however, under Buzz or Greenberg or anyone else. Maybe Syracuse where he could play in one area, but in a place where you have to defend both sides of the floor he is struggling
