Keeping highly rated recruits in their first season is going to be a
challenge for most of the teams that recruit them, now that they are given a free pass to transfer without having to sit out a season and losing a year of eligibility. This is a given, because first year players typically have the most to learn to adjust to the college game and the kids that are highly rated are more likely not to accept riding the pine. As an opinion, I do believe that could complicate matters for system coaches if the first year recruit can’t grasp the system quickly and the coach can’t give them their expected PT. I’m guessing that happened with Bamisile. I don’t know about Collins, but I’d lay money that Rice expects to play next year.
I think it’s just a problem that is exacerbated by the transfer rule.
